Future Florida Educators of America (FFEA)

If you are interested in a career in teaching, then Florida Future Educators of America is the club for you. In it, students are given the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the educational profession.

Human Relations Council (H.R.C.)

Leadership organization promoting positive student interactions, especially focused on inclusion of students with disabilities.

National Junior Honor Society

NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) is an international middle school organization that prepares students for leadership and lifelong success. Applicants to NJHS must reach the standards in leadership, citizenship, character, service, and scholarship.

Students with a 3.5 GPA come together to perform community service. This is the pinnacle organization on campus.

Student Council/Student Government Association (S.G.A.)

The Student Government Association (S.G.A.) Provides the main forum for discussing student concerns and ideas; Represents and serves the needs of the student body through coordinating student activities and charity fundraisers and holding weekly meetings.

By encouraging involvement, we provide a medium for all students to become active in the workings of our community. This includes hosting a number of inclusive activities such as Spirit Week, pep rallies, and much, much more. Not only do we bridge the gap between students and administration, but we are also involved members of the Fort Lauderdale community. On an annual basis, WDMS SGA participates in Harvest Drive and other service-based projects that are aimed at exposing our service and learning. Every year our goal is to improve the lives of our student and faculty population by implementing creative and fun ideas to make each year unforgettable!

TeacHer

TeacHer1 INC/ TEACHER EXCELLENCE is a mentor program designed to educate, motivate, and inspire girls to be the best version of themselves through exposure, empowerment, skills building, strengthening self-confidence, and college and career planning through customized programs that address the needs of girls on a global scale.

Step Team

A Step Team is a team that performs a unique dance art form that originated in Africa. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participants' entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken works, and hand claps. Students in WDMS Step Team learn various percussive step movements which will be performed at a variety of events throughout the school and county.

Crime Watch

Crime Watch encourages positive peer pressure among students to take pride in their school through its series of youth crime prevention training programs and action projects. They also learn the best ways to report suspicious activities or disturbances. Youth who participate in a school crime watch also get a chance to see how the judicial system works with our planned field trip tours to local Police Station, Jail and Courthouse.

Anime Club

Students will be able to work on creating Anime with a general theme of community-building in our class, school, city, state, nation, and the world. In addition to writing, drawing, and using technology, students will also create ideas for crafting characters, and opportunities to research and explore Japanese culture.

5000 Role Models

The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project aims to intervene in the lives of at-risk minority male youth in an effort to provide them with positive role models and experiences that will empower them to make good choices and encourage healthy living, responsibility, respect, and achievement.  Expected outcomes include improved academic performance, reduced truancy, fewer referrals and suspensions, and increased pathways to success through mentoring and diverse experiences.
